Spinning its web since 2010 – WebjectS celebrates its 4th anniversary!

Since launching our business in December 2010, Webjects entered the web industry with a promise to deliver the most forward thinking, seamless and intuitive websites, bursting with creative flair and originality, adapting to the clients every need.

Fun facts about Webjects:

  • Between the years of 2013 and 2014, Webjects has processed over 2 million pounds worth of online (transactions) through its servers!
  • ‘Webjects’ originated from the word project – two words for the price of one!
  • The servers currently send more than 150,000 emails – a year. (Not to mention how many its receives)
  • We have over 100+ clients and counting – spanning locations all over the UK. (remove)

And now, fast forwarding to the year 2014, we are celebrating our 4th anniversary in business. Since its humble beginnings, from our regional base in Penarth, the services we offer clients have spanned diverse and exciting industries in the UK from as far as London and Italy. It was the vision of owner, Christopher Gardner, who forged a passion for web development and effective customer service which put the wheels in motion four years ago. This, essentially, built the core services and reputation of Webjects for what they are known for today; establishing itself during the early stages of growth as a premium web service.

What was is the vision?

webjectsOwner Christopher Gardner explains.

“My vision was simple. I had a great interest and natural curiosity for multimedia, web and design, and so with that in mind I was eager to educate myself and broaden my skillset. I distinctly remember during my teenage years at the school I am now proud to say I have attended in Penarth, Stanwell Comprehensive, that I designed my first website at the age of fifteen. This site was simple, yet showcased my interest of my favourite spy James Bond in a way I had not seen before.

It was then that my teacher at the time had told me of the importance of HTML and general coding, and where it will eventually become an essential part of modern day technology for business in the future and in the coding industry.

Luckily, for me, he couldn’t have been more right.

It was also later on, during my University years, that web design became a skill I had significantly developed. This included the first idea I designed for a smartphone application, which utilised a web design framework to test my prototype. This inspired me to set out on my venture shortly after graduating. The business idea, therefore, became the culmination of my studies skills and experiences that I had developed, and I was able to transfer these in to delivering effective results for small to medium enterprises and local businesses requiring competitive design, web solutions and development”.

Before I knew it, I had a business idea. I threw the ideas for a web strategy on the wall and wanted to see if they would stick. Touch wood, for four years, that wall has still kept the ideas solidly intact and I am so grateful and pleased with the results thus far. The biggest compliment I can have is when a client asks us to re-build the website from the ground up again – it means they have complete faith in my team’s efforts and reassures my team we are on the right track and will continue to sustain and repeat success for the client moving forward with the design”.

Unfortunately, in some cases however, web designers can earn a reputation for websites which are lacklustre, unable to meet the client’s objectives, or, in the worst case scenario, drift away from the quality of output originally asked for. Over the last four years, we have strived to establish our services to break that common mould and social stigma by providing a highly commendable and specialised service which meets every client’s solution or need – without leaving them short-changed. This ensures that the website we design and develop is tailor made to their specific requirements, and, most importantly, results in true value for money. This comes with experience – and a lot of it. Our clients have a lot to say about us, and we always want to help where we can ‘spin’ our talents in the web that extra mile. This just naturally comes with our service.

And with this service, four years in business has taught us a lot about the community, and the importance of it, as owner Chris believes, “the more you grow, the more you should give back”. When we have experienced periods of rapid growth, it was noticed by the team that Webjects had a social responsibility to provide and support activity in the surrounding region. This has included acting as proud sponsors of Penarth Rugby Club and the Welsh Curry Awards since 2012. Serving over thirty clients in the local area, we have been able to witness businesses prosper through both their websites and increased online business activity. Upon accepting invitations to events, one of the highlights being the annual Welsh Curry Awards, we have been able to network and take part in diverse activities which enrich our own experiences and culture as a team. Collaboration and communication certainly are key to all this. Additionally, we have supported “Shop In Penarth”; a great initiative to encourage shopping and business in the surrounding area through a green initiative. Being involved in the community brings people together creating a great amount of reward, satisfaction and success. Through local events and occasions to celebrate, Webjects team has been able to reap the rewards of their input and develop great relationships which we hope to continue in the forthcoming years.

In the spotlight

Take a look here to see what key clients of Webjects over the last four years have to say about the teams services:

Who: Red Recruitment

www.red-recruitment.com

What: Recruitment sector

Where: Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester, Burnley, Swindon

When: 2013 – present

Why: Required a major web design overhaul

Red Recruitment is a recruitment consultancy based in UK-wide regions helping people get in to work. Since signing up one of Webjects longest-term contracts, the website proposal put forward by the team pledged to make the business develop and grow as a strong, solid and reliable recruitment agency. By doing this, it allowed the company to translate their service they offer, communicate more effectively, and how they run their day-to-day processes. The new website designed by Webjects includes many additions to the businesses activities including the way they advertise, store their client’s data, and utilise the new multi-posting interface to speed up processes for the consultants working at the head offices. The website designed by Webjects also finally matched the fun, creative and professional image the company always wanted to project. With continued support and assistance being received around the clock, the company still continues to appreciate the impact a new design has made on the company as a whole. Here is what they had to say:

“Ever since the start of the website renovation, Webjects has been brilliant at every phase of the project, from day one right up until completion – making every stage as simple, efficient and effortless as possible. Customer service has also been second to none in terms of quality, and whatever our needs have been, all are met with a quick response. The team are always available and hands-on with every aspect of the website platform, and even with the areas which require a great attention to detail. We cannot thank the guys enough for all their hard work and effort. It makes our jobs to help other people find jobs easier!”[/toggle]

Who: Tim Cronin

What: Music artist

www.timcroninmusic.co.uk

Where: Cardiff

When: 2013 – present

Why: Required an official website to promote music

As one of the more unique and artistic clients of Webjects, Tim Cronin, a singer songwriter based in Cardiff, signed up to the teams services when he required an official website where he would be able to upload and share his music to. As a new and upcoming artist in Wales, Tim required new and creative ways of distributing his original material to his fans. Since debuting the site, the interface includes his music, photos, videos, upcoming live dates, and links to purchase his two EP records. Using the latest mobile technology to streamline his content, known as ‘Ajax technology’, this meant Tim would have an efficient site which could process and render high definition videos, images, and of course, his music on demand to stream.

A website of this nature has been paramount to building Tim’s profile as a singer. Webjects has enabled him to provide his audience and fan-base with a one-stop platform; one that makes his music easily accessible to them. Over the last year, the site has essentially become a central hub which is updated around the clock through live feeds and social media networks so fans have been able to keep up to date on events, performances and Tim’s latest projects.

Here is what Tim had to say:

“Firstly, I’d like to start with just how professional and efficient the Webjects team are. Not only are they brilliant at their jobs, but a pleasure to work with. Being an artist, my ideas can come out all over the place and it is so reassuring how the onwer can identify and understand my vision so well which brings my web page to life.

What I love about the website is how each element is slick and fresh. Whilst remaining a simple design, there is continuity through each of the pages that not only looks fantastic, but also gives the user a seamless experience. My audience is able to stay up to date with new videos and original music, as well as being able to purchase merchandise, digital and CD copies of my music.

As a musician, my priority is always with the creative and artistic process itself. Therefore, sometimes it can be difficult to allocate time to the technical side of being an artist. Most recently, Webjects successfully integrated an Instagram feed in to my website. This means the site is constantly updated with my activity and this a self-sufficient feature which allows me to remain focused on writing songs! I cannot thank Webjects enough for continued work”.[/toggle]

1) How has Webjects grown your business?

We have identified the world wide web as being our shop window for attracting new members to our a gym, with the powers of social media now a days we have ploughed a lot of effort into this area from a marketing point of view and it was critical to have a website that instantly impressed. We have worked with Webjects for around 3 years and the level of service has been incredible, to the point we have never thought of using another company!

2) What difference or impact has the new website made on Dragon Cross Fit?

The relationship we have formed with webjects over the past few years the transition to the new website was a breeze. Webjects understood the importance of community within CrossFit and our gym and was able to capture that from the start. The understanding that webjects had, with what we wanted to achieve with the new website spot on.

Since launching the new website we have had an increase in foot fall to the gym, an increase in enquires as well as increase in membership. It’s fair to say the website has helped hugely to drive the business forward.

3) What does the team at Dragon Cross Fit like about Webjects design for your website, and has it made employees jobs easier in any cases?

As we make alterations and updates on a daily basis to the website, Websjects factored this into the design and as a result the management of the website has been fool proof for us all at Dragon CrossFit, its allowed our employees and ourselves to make changes very quickly that then allows us to focus in on the day to day running of the gym.

A final message from the Owner..

Where does the time go? Four years ago I was sitting down with a pen and paper trying to connect the dots for a business plan. It still only feels like yesterday, and I am so happy to have received the help I have personally received along the way. If I were to list the people who have helped me achieve my goals, the list would be as long as my arm, but if you are reading this – you definitely know who you are!

With many clients growing on a local and national basis, the amount of business we have received over these past four years has exceeded my wildest dreams. I cannot thank the community of Penarth and the local businesses in the area for accepting our services, allowing us to grow and for their continued support during this time.

Finally, on a personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to wish the team at Webjects and everyone in Penarth a very merry Christmas and a prosperous 2015!”.

We are also a very keen sponsor of Shop in Penarth and GPG having provided new branding and photography over the past few years.
